Resolution Peace Network
Democratic Clubs and progressive organizations that support legislation to:
Promptly withdraw from Iraq
Not attack Iran without Congressional approval
Take good care of the troops, veterans and their families

The next Resolution Peace meeting
will be in 2009.  We are all busy campaigning.

In an effort to bring power to the peaceful, Resolution Peace seeks to grow the peace movement with concrete actions and rapid response aimed at keeping the Democratic Party moving in the direction of ending the Iraq War and stopping an attack on Iran.  To implement this strategy the constituencies that sent the Democrats to Congress voice their support for Resolution Peace.  When a critical mass of the Democratic Clubs and progressive political organizations throughout America pass Resolution Peace and endorse the Responsible Plan the Democratic Congress will do what we ask. Critical mass will be reached through several tactics.

Please Join Resolution Peace

Have your club pass Resolution Peace

Democratic Clubs and progressive political organizations can pass Resolution Peace which states:

We support legislation to:

Promptly withdraw from Iraq

Not attack Iran without Congressional approval

Take good care of the troops, veterans and their families

Clubs and Organizations passing this resolution are then members of the Resolution Peace Network. The network will promote the fact that your organization has joined others in passing Resolution Peace. As the number of organizations passing Resolution Peace grows, announcements will be made through press releases specifically in the local press where the club or organization is located.

TAKE THE NEXT STEP

The Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq

The answer to those who would say that withdrawing is irresponsible.  The plan is backed up by real legislation now working its way through congress in the form of multiple legislative proposal.  The plan is comprehensive, it will:

End U.S. Military Action in Iraq
Use U.S. diplomatic power
Address humanitarian concerns
Restore our Constitution
Restore our military
Restore independence to the media
Create a new, U.S.-centered energy policy

Redeployment of resources from the military to the civilian economy more

The plan was developed by Congressional candidate Darcy Burner (Washington) in collaboration with national security experts and retired military leaders.  A growing list of candidates for the house and senate have endorsed the complete plan.  Many seated legislators have co-sponsored several of the component legislative proposals.  The aim is to sweep Democratic candidates into office in the fall behind a peace strategy that will not only end the war but also address the institutional failures of government that led to the war in the first place. Our goal is to increase those lists and elect the candidates on them, with your help.

Congressional candidates and officeholders are joining with Democratic clubs, progressive organizations, and individual activists nationwide in support of the Responsible Plan. Please have your club endorse the plan and then present your clubs endorsement to your representative or senator.
